MINDFULNESS YOGA PROGRAM FOR ELC’S
Our classes include: movement, team work, exploration of the senses, relaxation, creativity & discussing emotions.
Our Mindful Yoga and Wellbeing Program is a play-based, inclusive program designed to support children’s physical, emotional, and social wellbeing in early learning environments.
The program combines movement, games, breath awareness, mindfulness, and relaxation practices in a developmentally appropriate way for children aged 5 months -5 years. Every class is designed to meet children exactly where they are; rolling, crawling, toddling or running and to grow with them as they do.
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is connected to the program across all five learning outcomes:
Identity through confidence and self-awareness
Connection through shared movement and social interaction
Wellbeing through physical activity and emotional regulation
Learning through curiosity and engagement
Communication through movement, breath, and expression
Rooted in Yoga Philosophy
While our classes are playful and lighthearted on the surface, they're built on something deeper: the timeless philosophy of yoga.
We gently introduce ancient yogic principles in ways young children can actually feel and understand — not through lecture, but through story, movement, and modelling. Concepts like:
Ahimsa (kindness and non-harm) — practised through gentle movement, caring for our bodies, and treating friends with respect
Santosha (contentment) — nurtured through simple breathing practices and moments of stillness that help children feel calm and "enough" just as they are
Connection to breath — as an anytime, anywhere tool children can carry with them to self-regulate big feelings
Awareness and presence — cultivated through sensory games, mindful movement, and quiet relaxation time
Community and belonging — built through shared songs, partner poses, and group games that celebrate every child's contribution
These principles aren't taught as abstract ideas — they're woven into the fabric of each session, so children absorb them the way they absorb everything at this age: through experience, repetition, and joy. Over time, these small moments help lay a foundation for emotional resilience, self-awareness, and kindness that extends well beyond the yoga mat.
